Schedule and Guidelines for entering quilts for Judging
This year the Archuleta County Fair will run from Thursday, July 30st through Sunday August 2nd .
- Quilt Receiving will be Friday July 24th from 10am to 2pm in the Exhibit Hall. Please bring completed forms with your quilt(s). All forms can be found at the link below .
- Quilt Judging will be Saturday, July 25th starting at 1pm. If you would like to watch the Judging, we ask that you please be respectful – No talking or other distractions will be allowed during the Judging. Anyone distracting the Judge will be asked to leave.
- Quilt Hanging will be Monday Morning July 27th from 9am to 11am (when the 4H kids come into the Exhibit Hall).
- Quilt Guardians will be needed for Thursday through Sunday (2 to 2 ½ hour blocks) and the sign-up link can be found here. Because the time blocks are shorter, we will need more volunteers. Two people per block – one to greet visitors in the Challenge Quilt area and one to sit at demo table across from Challenge Quilts. Volunteers can take turns walking around and keeping an eye on the quilts. If you would like a longer block of time, simply sign up for two or more consecutive blocks. Thank you all for generously donating your time and sharing your beautiful works of art during this wonderful Fair!
- This year we also have the Demo table located directly across from the Challenge quilts. You may work on any project you like, or none at all. You can bring a machine; there is access to electrical outlets. You may also sell quilting or sewing related items. You must bring your own change, and only have it displayed while you are volunteering.
